About Waterford Garden Plant Society
This Waterford garden club was founded in 1984 by a group of gardening enthusiasts who wished to share their interest & promote gardening. Affiliated to the Royal Horticulture Society of Ireland.
Our symbol is the Fennessy’s Oak, which is a very rare tree species and has a long association with Waterford.


Events 2025
KILMOKEA GARDEN SPRING TOUR
Saturday, April 26th
Discover Kilmokea Garden's spring blooms with a guided tour, followed by tea and scones in the conservatory. Limited to 50 guests.
GARDENS OF KENT AND WISLEY TRIP
Monday, June 2nd to Sunday, June 8th
Travel from Waterford Quay to explore famed gardens in Wales and England, including accommodations and meals.

ARDGILLAN CASTLE COACH TRIP
Saturday, July 5th
Visit Ardgillan Castle for a garden tour and castle walkthrough, with a stop at Ardán Garden in Howth.
BEECHDALE AND TOMBRICK
GARDEN TOUR
Saturday, August 9th
Morning tea at Beechdale's Wildflower café, followed by a scenic drive and tour of Tombrick Garden.
COFFEE MORNING
Saturday, May 24th
Enjoy coffee and cake with fellow garden enthusiasts at Abbey Road Gardens. Donations support St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Tour the tasteful seaside garden at Meadowlands, followed by a visit to the expansive Salterbridge garden.

An evening visit to Maura O'Neill's garden in Slievecorragh for garden enthusiasts.
HEYWOOD AND FRUITLAWN GARDENS COACH OUTING
Saturday, September 6th
Explore the historic Heywood Garden, enjoy a full lunch at Abbeyleix Manor Hotel, and finish at Fruitlawn Garden for tea and plant shopping.

Our Annual Christmas Lunch
Christmas lunch at Faithlegg House Hotel. 12:30pm Mulled wine reception followed by seasonal lunch. €45 per member plus €5 extra insurance for non-members. Bookings at October and November lectures.

Harry Deacon, Coolaught Garden Centre, “Old Favourites and New Stars.” Harry will bring plants to sell.

Lee Behegan, gardener at Lismore Castle will speak about his time at Chanticleer Gardens, USA.
